SALISBURY city cenre was shut down for four hours over a bomb scare this afternoon.
Police cordoned off The Market Square after a suspicious package was reported at the post office in Winchester Street.
Officers evacuated shops and businesses in the centre and put up a 100m cordon.
An officer at the scene told the Journal the threat was "credible".
Bomb disposal experts removed the package and the cordon was lifted at just after 6.45pm.
