HUNDREDS of walkers took part in Wessex Walks last weekend in aid of Save the Children.
Families, friends, groups, clubs and schools took part in a choice of sponsored walks from three to 26 miles long.
Su Lycett, of Save the Children, said: “We had a very successful reception and we were lucky with the weather. The Salisbury Air Cadets were brilliant with all their help.”
More than 300 walkers of all ages were signed-in and welcomed in the gardens of the Rifles Museum in the Cathedral Close.
At the end of their walks they were presented with a badge, pen and certificate for their efforts.
One of the longest-established sponsored events, Wessex Walks for Save the Children have raised nearly £3million since they first took place 45 years ago.
