SALISBURY City have tonight completed the signing of Forest Green Rovers full back Matthew Robinson.
Robinson, who will be 32 later this month, is a vastly experienced player who began his career as a trainee at Southampton.
He made a handful of appearances at The Dell before joining Portsmouth for £50,000.
In his two years at Fratton Park, Robinson, who was born in Exeter, chalked up more than 60 games before moving to Reading in a £150,000 deal.
Another 60-plus league and cup games followed before he headed to Oxford United in July 2002 on a free transfer.
A regular for Oxford, he amassed more than 175 games in just over four years.
Another free transfer took him to Forest Green Rovers in September of this year where he made more than a dozen Conference appearances.
Manager Nick Holmes said he was pleased to have signed Robinson, who could feature in Saturday's FA Trophy tie with Woking.
"When players of his calibre come along, you've got to take notice," said the City boss.
"He's a left back and we've known of his presence for some time."
No fee was required for the player.
