EDDIE Abel has broken his finger for the second season running.
The South Wilts left-hand opener, pictured, will miss the remainder of the season after breaking a finger in last Saturday’s Premier Division win over St Cross Symondians.
He did his bit with the bat, making 79, but broke the top of his middle finger while fielding in the slips after tea.
It’s the second season running Abel has broken a finger and missed the climax to the season.
“I was gutted when it happened last season and it’s unbelievable I’ve got injured again,” he said.
“After last year I was so looking forward to playing a major role this time around, but now it looks as if I’m stuck on the boundary again.”
Zimbabwean all-rounder Ryan Burl, out for three months with a dislocated shoulder, made a successful return at the weekend, though he is experiencing back problems.
