A DOUBLE coup was captured by promising waterpolo players at Salisbury Stingrays.
Katy Cutler, 13, and Holly Dennis, 14, were called into the Hampshire under-19 team for the South East Inter County Championships on Saturday.
Drawn against Sussex in their first match, Katy got her county off to a glorious start by scoring a hat-trick as they won 8-5.
Defender Holly proved her worth in the second game, helping Hampshire to a 7-2 thumping over Kent.
With silver guaranteed, the girls were hoping to go one step further as they were going for gold against Middlesex, a squad comprising six of the current under-17 GB Team.
Despite Katy winning three of the four swim offs and scoring another hat trick, two of which were penalty shots, Hampshire were left undone 5-17 – and left with a heavy heart and shiny silverware.
