FAMILIES and cycling enthusiasts are invited to join in a weekend of sport in May.
Cycle Wiltshire is a chance for people to take to the road on their bikes, as well as experience the excitement and thrill of top-class cycling in their local community.
The second annual Cycle Wiltshire Sportive on the weekend of May 9 will give people of all cycling abilities the chance to take part in a picturesque ride through Salisbury and the surrounding area.
On the Saturday there will be a choice of three distances to ride: 20, 64 or 100 miles and a one-mile route for youngsters, all starting at Salisbury Community Campus at Five Rivers from 8.30am.
On the Sunday the Cycle Wiltshire Grand Prix elite cycle race, part of the British Cycling National Road Race series, will see about 100 top professional riders taking part.
The riders will set off at 11am, heading to Salisbury city centre, before the official start in Wilton.
The circuits will then pass through Burcombe, Barford St Martin, Compton Chamberlayne, Fovant, Ebbesbourne Wake, Bishopstone and Broad Chalke, before finishing back in Wilton.
Last year more than 500 people took part.
