TENNIS pairs from Riverside and Salisbury smashed their way to silverware in the 30th Sarum League Mixed Tournament.
Riverside’s Nick Stamp and Carolyn Barry produced a solid 6-2 semi-final win over reigning champions Richard Hamshaw and Diane Wilson, of Victoria Park, before seeing-off Salisbury’s James Sinclair and Liz Crossley with the same score in the final of the A section.
In the B event, couple Lee and Sue Burt, from host club Salisbury, edged the final 6-5 over Alderbury’s John LeQuesne and Ros Gray. The Burts beat clubmates Simon White and Trina Smith 6-2 in the last four while John and Ros won 6-2 over Simon and Paula Dean from newly-formed Hamptworth.
