LUKE Prince's stunning 72nd minute goal earned Salisbury City a deserved three points from last night's trip to Dartford FC to take on fellow promotion hopefuls Welling United.

Whites ran out worthy 2-1 victors - ending a run of four games without a win.

Robbie Matthews' 53rd minute equaliser finally broke their barren spell in front of goal, which had lasted 426 minutes.

United took the lead against the run of play on 25 minutes when Martin Carthy headed home unmarked.

City continued to press but still went in at the break trailing 0-1.

Matthews pounced eight minutes into the second half scoring his 12th goal of the campaign.

Prince's strike for City's winner must go down as one of the club's best goals of the season - and one of the best seen thus far at Dartford's impressive new ground, aptly named Prince's Park. Substitute Jerome Watt's corner was cleared only as far as the midfielder whose superb 35-yard volley flew into the net, giving United custodian Jamie Turner no chance.

Welling had the ball in the net in stoppage time but Danny Kedwell's effort was ruled out through offside.
