TITLE favourites Histon scored three times in the second half to bank all three points in today's top of the table clash at the Ray Mac.

Although City had more opportunities to score, they failed to find the net for the fourth home game running.

Whites should have had a penalty late in the first half after Matt Tubbs was shoved in the back, but the referee awarded a free kick outside the box.

City piled the pressure on the Histon box in the first half, but found Lance Kay in fine form to deny Tubbs, Matthews and Beswetherick.

Histon broke the deadlock when Robbie Nightingale guided the ball over the line two minutes after the interval.

Another scrappy goal three minutes later saw Antonio Murray head the ball under the body of goalkeeper Ryan Clarke.

Roscoe Hipperson headed Histon's third on 67 minutes to effectively wrap up the league title and promotion to the Conference.

Whites, who visit Newport County on Saturday, are the only team who can now catch the leaders, who have a 13 point lead.

Afterwards, City manager Nick Holmes conceded that his team were now playing for a place in the play-offs.

"We have to make sure we finish as high as we can to give us the best chance in the play-offs."
