AN inaugural rugby competition at the Olympic Stadium entertained 32 clubs from across the country, including Salisbury RFC under-12s.
The roving rugby players took part in the Mini Rugby Challenge (tag rugby) at the London arena shortly before the Rugby World Cup 2015 launched.
Coach Harry Jones guided them to a finish near the top of their group.
Afterwards, they received a commemorative medal at a presentation by former England
star Phil Greening.
"It was a rare opportunity to play rugby on a very special pitch," said Jones, "the team played well against some good competition."
In the afternoon, the team and supporters enjoyed Barbarians v Samoa.
The under-12s are enjoying a successful season so far and are keen to welcome new players.
They train on Sundays (10am to 12pm) at Hudson's Field.
