SAM Wilson caught up with striking rival Dan Mason for the golden boot with a double in Salisbury's 5-1 victory over misfiring Hamworthy United.
The marksman is now tied with Sholing's Mason on 37 goals, after as many games, at the top of Sydenhams Wessex Premier goal chart with three matches left.
His two measured finishes arrived midway through the second half after Ashley Jarvis restored Whites' lead when Morgan Turner cancelled out Robbie Matthews' first half opener.
Tom Whelan capped off a much-improved second half showing with a late strike in stoppage time to put the hosts up to 99 points. They are just a single point away from reaching the 100-point mark.
It's been a hectic four weeks for Steve Claridge's charges, who were playing their tenth game and it showed, making a sluggish start.
The home side, looking jaded, took a while to get going as it was Hamworthy who threatened with two free headers in the space of five minutes.
Greg Horlock missed the target from six yards then Turner ghosted into the area ahead of central defender Matthews but glanced wide.
But at the other end, Matthews broke the deadlock from Whelan's pin-point delivery, a minute before the half hour mark.
The lead lasted just 11 minutes as a defensive lapse allowed Turner to profit, latching onto a woeful back pass and sprinting through to rifle past a deserted Charlie Searle.
Whites were refreshed after the interval, despite losing Matthews to a calf strain, and a clumsy challenge allowed Jarvis to divert a spot kick beyond Gerrard Benfield.
Out of nothing, Bradley Gale popped up with a magnificent 25-yard strike that rocked the woodwork.
But that was as close the Hammers came to levelling as Wilson made sure of the three points with a double. He slotted in off the post before sliding home a fourth.
Whelan then rounded proceedings off with a curling finish inside the area to leave Benfield stranded.
"A good second half performance, we'll forget about the first half," said headcoach Claridge.
"I understand that sometimes it's a bit difficult but it was a lack of application first half, which was disappointing.
"I know it's going to be a little low key and not the normal hustle and bustle of a league game which means something. We needed to apply ourselves a bit better in the second half and they did.
"In the end, it was a much better second half, and it was fine in the end."
