SALISBURY's well-attended 10 mile road race has been brought forward.
The race, which starts and finishes on Five Rivers' track, will now take place on Sunday, March 5 2017 as part of a revised line-up of events in the Hampshire road running league.
City of Salisbury men’s A team, who were triumphant in 2013 and 2014, have slipped to a disappointing bottom of the first division this year and are looking to revitalise their performance in the new campaign.
The Salisbury ladies’ team was almost as successful at the same time, twice finishing in second place overall, but currently have much to do to improve their standing in the league.
Club officials are optimistic that the surge of interest in road running in the area will result in additions to the team line-ups and that league scoring will then return to previous levels.
In total, there are 12 races, with the first starting on Sunday, September 4 at Overton.
