A NATIONAL newspaper journalist visited Ellingham and Ringwood as part of the rugby club's golden jubilee anniversary.
Stephen Jones, a rugby correspondent at the Sunday Times, spoke to members of the Parsonage Barn Lane outfit, which formed in December 1966.
The evening involved a meal, question and answer session, information and thought-provoking discussions.
Bernard Guy, a past chairman of the club, thanked Jones for attending and presented him with a club tie.
"I enjoyed the evening and it was good to visit a grassroots rugby club," said Jones, who is also an award-winning author.
