AMESBURY Youth FC have been awarded a £1,500 grant from the FA and the Football Foundation as part of their Grow the Game project.
The grant has allowed Amesbury to create a new U18 team, with the club now offering football for U7 to U18.
Along with creating the new team, the grant allows the club to put money towards FA coaching courses; FA league affiliation costs; referees’ fees; first aid kits; and even football kit and equipment.
England manager Gareth Southgate spoke about how the grant money can help local sides.
Grow the Game is mainly funded by The FA and delivered by the Football Foundation.
Amesbury manager Adrian Berry added: “We welcome the grant from the Football Foundation, the formation of Amesbury Youth will help with the transition from youth into adult football.”
