FC Salisbury United continued their fantastic start to the season by defeating Cambridge United Futsal Club in front of a 200 plus crowd. Salisbury have never lost a competitive game at Five Rivers and were keen to uphold their unbeaten run.

Salisbury were missing Luke Ballinger but welcomed back Connor Millar, Eddie Perrett and Shaun Prentice to the squad. Roared on by the crowd they went 2-0 up very quickly. Salisbury’s Bruno Gibin and Rafael Ramos both scored before Perrett and Millar ended the first half with a flourish scoring a goal each to make it 4-2 to Salisbury.

In the second half, Cambridge put the pressure on to score three quick goals, Salisbury were holding onto their lead after the visitors forced the deficit to 6-5. They eventually came out on top by adding a further two goals to make the final score 8-5. Geoff Bonner was delighted with his teams performance and their start to life in the league, he said: “It was a solid team performance and I’m happy with the result, the fact that we’re nine points out of nine after three games is almost unbelievable.”
