BEMERTON Heath Harlequins showed Bournemouth Poppies, no mercy as they ran out comfortable 6-0 winners on Tuesday night.

They completely dominated the game from start to finish and they could have got to double figures.

Their first goal came from Jake Rawkins, as he converted a Seb Dawes cross at the back post, with a good finish.

The second came from left back George Plank, who got forward well and powered the ball in to the bottom right corner.

Robbie Matthews then made it 3-0 by the break, when another inch perfect cross from Dawes was finished at close range.

Bournemouth started the second half slightly better, but could not create any good chances.

Rawkins then got his second and Bemerton's fourth, when he smashed home from 12 yards.

Substitute James Lightfoot made it five from Plank's cross and then another sub Jack Slade made it six when he rose highest to head home.

Bemerton manager Rae Hughes said: "This was the performance of the season so far, we played with a fantastic tempo and worked our socks off.

"It should really of been a few more but three points is the most important thing. I am really pleased for the lads.”

This Saturday, Bemerton are at home again in the league against Lymington and then on Tuesday night they face National League South side Chippenham in the semi-final of The Wiltshire Senior Cup at Melksham.
