AMESBURY lost out by the odd goal in an 11 goal thriller at Bashley in the Wessex League Premier Division.

The visitors were 2-0 down after seven minutes thanks to Conor Whiteley, but pulled a goal back by the break.

A minute after the interval, Harry McGrath scored his first of a second half hat-trick and at one stage Bashley led 5-2.

However, by the 78 minute, Amesbury had narrowed the lead to one, before McGrath's hat-trick on 90 minutes.

The visitors netted their fifth in injury time. Cameron Roach led the Amesbury goal scoring with a brace and there were singles for Kieran Edwards, Kieran Stephens and Connor Millar.

This evening, Amesbury have an away game against Team Solent and then Wednesday are at home Amesbury entertain Baffins Milton Rovers.

This starts a run of three home games with Cowes Sports in town on Saturday and on Tuesday night leaders Blackfield and Langley are the visitors.
