SALISBURY FC fans will get to see their summer signings in action for the first time, when the Whites start their pre-season at home to Lymington on Friday evening (7.45pm).

Then on Tuesday night they are away at Winchester City with the kick-off time once again 7.45pm.

New summer signings George Baker, Markus Beauchamp, Pablo Haysham and Darren Mullings are all expected to play some part in these games.

Steve Claridge is looking forward to seeing his side back in action and said: “I think the break has done us good and now it will be nice to see the guys in action. Against Lymington we should see a lot of the ball and then of course Winchester will give us a much tougher game.”

Claridge is still hoping to add another couple of new faces to his summer shopping, but it remains to be seen if they will be here in time to make their debuts in the opening two pre-season games.

Last week the draw for the for the FA Cup were made and Salisbury have been drawn at home to Wessex League Premier Division outfits Alresford or Hamble Club in a preliminary tie on August 25.

Claridge said: “We are pleased we are at home and know we will be up against a good side, but if we play as well as we can we should make it into the next round.”

In the FA Trophy, the Whites are exempt in this competition until the first qualifying round stage on Saturday, October 27.

In the FA Youth Cup, Salisbury have an away tie at Sholing in the week commencing September 3. A game which is expected to have a 7pm kick-off.
