SALISBURY Bowls Club men broke a 36 year drought, as they were crowned county champions for the first time since 1982
In the County Finals at Devizes, the Salisbury team of Ashley Plumb, Bob Armstrong and skip Jamie Reynolds became triple champs as they beat tough opposition from Royal Wootton Bassett 16-11.
Tom Warner also from Salisbury was beaten in the final of the 2wood 14-13 by Neil Smith of Royal Wootton Bassett.
All four Salisbury Men now go onto the National Finals next month at Royal Leamington Spa.
DESPITE losing to Sherfield English 6-4 in the Mixed Triples Bowls League Mere remain top.
Sixpenny Handley and Sherfield occupied second and third, but are 15 points behind Mere.
Other saw Wilton won against Downton 6-4 and Amesbury beat Salisbury by the same score.
In Wiltshire, the Ladies had a successful season in the Bowls England Inter County John's Trophy.
They now play Yorkshire in the semi-finals at Leamington Spa on August 4.
Ann Hindley from Wilton, Janice Bull from Amesbury and Margaret Annetts from Salisbury have been selected as members of the 24 Lady team.
