DARREN Crook scored on his debut for Laverstock and Ford, but it was all in vain as they lost 3-1 in their final pre-season outing against a very good Shaftesbury outfit.
Lavvy open their Wessex League Division One campaign on Saturday away at newly relegated Petersfield, and the will be one of favourites for promotion having finished seventh last season.

Russ Jones led the way with a hat-trick, Archie Lovegrove grabbed a brace and their was one each for Lewis Wykes and Tommy Campbell-Smith.
DOWNTON kick-off their Division One campaign at home to a United Servies Portsmouth, who finished sixth last term.
The Robins were 12th last time out, so will be hoping to climb up the table.
