STILL celebrating their amazing victory in the Southern Athletics League and promotion to Division Two, writes DI CROSS.

City of Salisbury Athletics and Running Club were out competing again this week at the Watford Harriers Open Graded Meeting in Hertfordshire. Two prominent members of the team, Alex Mundell and Richard Davidson, both achieved personal bests in the 1,500 metres.

Davidson won his race in a time of 4:40.57 while Mundell finished in fifth place in hers in a time of 4:37.16.

The club also seized victory in the Hullavington 10k, the seventh event in the Wiltshire Road Race League 2018 and the Wiltshire County Championship race at this distance, with Sian Thomas landing the women’s race in 39:30, well ahead of the second-placed runner.

The club’s Eddie O’Gorman was the club's highest placed male finisher, crossing the line in 38:10, 13th overall.

Once again, a sizeable cohort of CoSARC runners headed to Dorset to support the latest White Star Running trail races.

On the Saturday, Elizabeth Roberts completed the marathon in 5:20:13 and Christine Gorham in 5:36:30. Jacqueline Chlebowski and Anne Norman ran the half marathon together, finishing in 2:49:29 and 2:49:31, respectively. Chris Maple finished 10th in the 10k in 49:05, he was followed home by Michael Boardman (16th) in 51:25.

On Sunday, several runners took part in WSR's East Farm Frolic, which involved running as many of the 3.25 mile laps as possible/desired in 12 hours.

Charlotte Boardman completed 12 circuits in 7:25:02; Grace Cousins and Elizabeth Roberts both did eight, equivalent to a marathon, in 5:38:18 and 5:49:39; and Christine Gorham did five in 3:44:16. Denise von Roretz completed three laps of the Dogs Only Frolic, aided by Luna, in 2:08:39.

Also over the weekend, James Ballard clocked up his 100th parkrun.
