LAVERSTOCK Ladies cruised into the second round of the Wiltshire Cup after they beat visiting Swindon Supermarine 6-0.

Laverstock started the game well and were rewarded in the 10th minute when with some good link up play down Laverstock left hand side saw Caitlin Lowers cross find Leanne Griffiths-Lower who slotted home from six yards out.

The home side enjoyed large spells of possession in the first half and on the 40th minute mark, Evie Bell went down the right wing and her perfect cross found Abbie Vernon at the back post who calmly rolled the ball home.

Two minutes later, Griffiths-Lower' 20-yard strike made it 3-0.

Griffiths-Lower turned provider in first half stoppage time, when her low cross found Kelly Burton at the back post who smacked the ball home from close range.

Laverstock dominated possession in the second half in the 55th minute a long range strike from Griffiths-Lower hit the crossbar.

The home side added a fifth goal as great with work down their right saw another Bell cross volleyed home at close range by Kelly Burton in the 70th minute.

Five minutes later, Burton latched onto a through ball from Megan Fear striking it into the bottom corner sealing her hat-trick.

Laverstock continued to press and Griffiths-Lower in search of her hat-trick hit the cross bar again from 25 yards 10 minutes from time.

With the last kick of the game Griffiths-Lower again was denied a treble as for the third time she hit the woodwork from distance.

For this game the Ladies had the support of three ball girls from Laverstock Academy who did a great job and took part in warming up with the ladies.

The team's next home game on September 30, when AEK Boco are the visitors in a league encounter.
