FORDINGBRIDGE enjoyed a landslide victory against Gosport and Fareham II’s winning 106 - 0

With three converted tries within eight minutes it was clear from the kick off that this match was going to be a one-sided affair. Fordingbridge were totally dominant from the minute one running in ten tries in the half with nine of them being converted by Jamie Tryska.

As the home side were in so much control all but one of the tries was scored under the posts meaning that the conversions were not difficult. Peter Scott carried on his try scoring streak from last week with a further three in the half and with two from Joe Tooze and Dan Brown and one from Ross Bealey Fordingbridge were 68-0 up at half time and very much in the driving seat.

However, with severe availability issues for the afternoon and a weakened side, Gosport and Fareham did not let their heads or spirits drop during the match and began to take the game to Fordingbridge. Although they did not manage to score a try they did keep the count down to six in the second half against them, much to their credit.

In a similar fashion to the first half though, Fordingbridge still dominated the match and Joe Tooze, Dan Brown and Mark Hammond scored in the second period to complete their hat ricks for the afternoon. With a try from Charlie Boyns the score was pushed on to 99-0 with four minutes to play. The last act of the match was Mat Norton scoring to take the score through the 100 barrier and after converting his own try the ref brought the

Whilst this was a very uneven game as the score suggests, Gosport and Fareham must be commended for the attitude and endeavour on what was obviously a very difficult afternoon for them.

Fordingbridge don’t play next week but travel to the Isle of Wight the week after for what should be a much closer game with Sandown and Shanklin who have won just one more game than Fordingbridge. They are second in the table immediately above the New Forest side in third place.

Fordingbridge 2XV travelled to Farnham and came away with a great win by 42-11.
