ELLINGHAM and Ringwood put in another impressive performance at the Raymond Brown Memorial Ground on Saturday to secure an important 67-7 bonus point win against Romsey in Hampshire Division One, writes STEVE BENSON.

Ellingham’s full back Chris Frost scored four tries.

Their centre Matt Raybould scored three and number 8 Duncan Soden scored two.

The other tries were scored by prop forward Darren Britton and wing three quarter Dominic Pitt. Wing three quarter Dean Young also kicked six conversions.

The result leaves Ellingham and Ringwood in third place in Hampshire Division 1 behind Alton and Farnborough.

After the game their captain Henry Benson said: “There’s a great feeling in the squad at the moment, but we’ve got a lot of work to do in the New Year”.

He added: "If we’re going to achieve our objective of being promoted to the Hampshire Premiership, we’ve got to keep on getting bonus point wins and then focus on our two big games against Alton and Farnborough, but of course they’ve also got to play each other in January."

Next week Ellingham are at home to Ventnor from the Isle of Wight, who are eighth.
