LAVERSTOCK Ladies followed up their 7-0 Wiltshire Cup quarter-final success over Chippenham with a 4-0 victory in the league last Sunday over the same side at the Dell, writes KAREN MUSSELWHITE.

Gale force winds during the game made it difficult for both teams.

With the wind holding the ball up the home side kept the ball on the ground with some fantastic passing and communication.

Evie Bell scored the first goal from outside the box giving Lavvy ladies the push to keep going against the wind.

With Chippenham fighting back and with wind behind them the score stood at 1-0 at half-time.

Lavvy came out strong with Rachel Adkins playing a through ball for Amy Sanger to run onto striking it into the back of the net.

The Chippenham goalkeeper lost the ball out of her hands from a corner giving Laura Golden the chance to add a third goal.

The visitors never gave up and after Caitlin Griffiths-Lower was taken down in the box by Chippenham's goalkeeper.

Sheridan Palk stepped up to take the penalty using the power of her right foot to hit the back of the net to secure a 4-0 win.

Laverstock Ladies sit in the middle of the the South West League table which is a fantastic achievement in their first season.
