AMESBURY maintained their four point lead at the top of the Wessex League Division One as they came back twice to win 4-2 at Folland Sports on Tuesday night.

The Blues needed to win as both their nearest rivals Romsey and Hythe and Dibden both picked up maximum points on Tuesday evening.

The victory at Folland maintained their 100 per cent record for February, but they left it late for secure their latest win.

There was no goals in the first 45 minutes and seven minutes after the break the home side took the lead.

A Kieran Stevens penalty on 65 minutes levelled things, but Folland struck again from Luke Ryan's bullet header.

The Blues then scored three times in the final 10 minutes to take the points as Jordan Matthews, Jack Vallis and Jordon Matthews were all on target.

Next up for Amesbury is a home game against Newport from the Isle of Wight on Saturday.

After this the Blues have two massive games which could well decide the destination of this season's Division One title.

This is because Amesbury are away to third placed Hythe and Dibden on March 2 and seven days later they travel to the By Pass ground to take on Romsey, who are second in the table.
