ELLINGHAM and Ringwood Rugby Club enjoyed a fantastic Bank Holiday weekend at this year’s Lychett 7’s, with all three of their teams winning silverware.

On Saturday Ellingham’s men won the Social Cup. It was a tough day with six games.

Their top try scorer was Louis Harling with eight. Chris Frost scored seven, Will Jenkins four, Dean Young three with the others coming from Garrett Avis and Ben Warren.

After winning the tournament their captain Henry Benson said: “We’ve had a fantastic season finishing runners up in Hampshire Division One and gaining promotion to the Hampshire Premiership.

"We also got to the semi-final of the Hampshire Plate, but it was great to end the season with a trophy”.

Benson added, “We can now look forward to competing in the Bournemouth sevens on the next May Bank Holiday weekend.”

On Sunday inspired by themen the previous day both Ellingham and Ringwood’s women and colts won their competitions.

The Ellingham and Ringwood women victory was their third in a row at the competiton.

For the Ellingham and Ringwood Colts it was their first ever success and they beat Wimbourne in the final.
