FARLEY'S first eleven maintained their winning form with a four-wicket victory at Sway II, while the second team's game was a victim of the weather.

Winning the toss, Farley elected to bowl on a surprisingly dry track.

Marc Burton and Geoff Ramsey found plenty of movement from the off, and it was Burton who struck early, pinning Clark in front.

Second wicket pair Millard and Charton dug in and had taken the score to 70 at drinks before Ramesh Gurung tempted Charton into a flashing drive that flew to slip.

With the pitch offering little assistance, Farley kept things tight as Gurung went for just 14 off his nine overs and steadily picked up wickets.

Millard made his way to a gritty 72 off 128 balls, before Paul Roberts removed him in the 41st over.

The returning Burton claimed two late scalps to finish with 3-26, as Sway made their way to 161-8 with some frantic running between the wickets.

Farley's response began fortuitously with both Ramesh Gurung and Mike Covill enjoying a couple of early lives.

They took full advantage, taking the score to 81 in the 14th over before Covill was leg before to a sharp turning delivery from Sway skipper How.

Gurung progressed to 75 at better than a run a ball before he was finally caught with the score on 115 as Farley lost three wickets in five overs.

Manny Gurung and Jon Burton then settled in to make sure there were no more alarms.

Manny was unusually watchful, and waited for anything over pitched to ease through the covers. He was just looking to open up when he was trapped in front for 28, but three Burton boundaries saw Farley home in the 39th over.

The win takes Farley up to second in the Hampshire County Division Four West, ahead of next week's visit to Fawley.
