DOWNTON have a trip to Fawley on Friday as they kick-off their Wessex League Division One campaign.

The Robins have a lot of new faces in their squad, with Robbie Owen an exciting addition and most of last team's have re-signed including top goal scorer TJ Moseley.

Looking ahead to the season manager Ben Smith said: "Our goal this season is again to finish within the top six, which we thought we’d got last year until the Wessex League gave Newport three points and they didn’t even play there fixture which was hugely disappointing especially when you put so much effort and time."

"Myself and Rich Rendall are both looking forward to Friday and there’s a real buzz around the club which is excellent. I’m hoping everyone can play there part in another successful season."
