SALISBURY went down 2-0 at Chesham United on the opening day of their Southern League Premier South.

The league opener saw the Whites give five players their league debuts.

The visitors should have taken the lead in the first-half when Shaquille Hippolyte-Patrick was brought down in the penalty area by Steve Brown.

The new boy dusted himself down and then saw his spot kick saved by Ben Goode.

On 57 minutes, Chesham took the lead thanks to Dernell Wynter.

The same player doubled the advantage nine minutes later, after the Whites failed to clear a corner.

As the game came to close both Dan Fitchett and Toby Holmes went close, but it remained 2-0.

Tomorrow night, Salisbury open their home league campaign at home to Gosport Borough, who had an impressive 3-0 win on Saturday over Taunton.
