WESSEX League Division One leaders Downton continued their impressive start to the season with an impressive win over a stunned Andover New Street.
Despite missing a handful of influential players, including the injured Diego Romero, it was clear from the very start that the Robins had a point or three to prove.
Both Robbie Owen and the lively TJ Moseley came close before Sam Howe scored a real world-class goal, chopping the goalkeeper from the angle 25-yards out.
Despite further efforts to increase the lead, Ben Smith going close from a wonderful cross by Dan Telfer, the hosts were clearly relieved that there was only one goal in it by half time.
That did not last though, the Robins did not so much as come out of the traps running, but sprinting.
After only a few minutes in the second half, they doubled their lead as Moseley nearly splitting the net in two when he smashed in his first of the match.
Dan Telfer, who had been terrorising the New Street defence throughout, grabbed the third on the 66th minute, before Moseley added his second, controlling the ball magnificently from a 40 yard pass before scoring with aplomb.
A clearance off the line and a number of saves from the hosts keeper kept the score respectable, and the last minute consolation goal meant little in the great scheme of things.
The leaders entertain Totton and Eling this Saturday
