LAVERSTOCK and Ford continued their rich run of league form with their third league win on the spin following a 2-0 win over a dogged AFC Fawley on Saturday at The Dell.

Lavvy were unchanged from their win over Ringwood the week before flew out of the blocks and were in front inside 70 seconds.

Ollie Roe crossed for Lewis Wakeford to see his shot saved only for in form Sykes to smash home to give his side the perfect start.

The game ebbed and flowed with neither side carving out many clear cut chances for the remainder of the first half.

Laverstock dominated possession but Fawley were keeping themselves in the game with some resilient defending.

The second half saw the game start with the same intensity, Lovegrove nearly doubled the lead but his header went over, then Steve Morish saw his goal bound effort brilliantly blocked.

Fawley were giving as good as they got but were limited to long range efforts, twice, Tom Roberts producing routine saves to keep them at bay. Sykes was then played through by Adam Bourner but his effort struck the post before the big fella finally got his reward and finished the tie on 80 minutes, coolly finishing a brisk move to give his side another three points.

After the match manager, Liam McConnell spoke to Journal Sport and said: "It is great to keep up this run of form, the lads yet again worked tirelessly.

"Last week we should have had the match won by half-time but today despite getting off to the perfect start, sometimes you can score too early. "We remained comfortable in the first half, credit to Fawley, they came at us in the second half, the lads were in defiant mood and am delighted in the manner of our clean sheet. Chae with another double, I'm delighted for him, all the lads are.

"He knows hard work pays off and to see him scoring like he is, we are all delighted for him.

"Next week is a new week and we know we will have yet another test away against an inform Romsey side."
