AMESBURY motor racing team Lionheart Racing have their eyes firmly set on winning the Armed Forces Championship this season and is looking for some more sponsors to help him achieve this.

Last year the team’s Salisbury driver Jonathan Candler driving a Peugeot 306 finished in third spot overall and won the Army title in what was his rookie season in the championship.

Candler said: “I am an army reservist and this year we really want to win the overall title.

The 27-year-old who hada passion for racing from a young age added: "That is our aim going into the championship this year and I really think we can achieve this.”

The team have plenty of sponsor opportunities for local companies to get involved.

So they can enjoy the thrills and spills of motorsport.

This can be either on race days during the season or as part of track days being a passenger alongside Candler going around a racing circuit.

The championship races on some of the ironic motor racing venues in Britain.

It all starts at Silverstone on April on the national circuit and then goes north to Croft (May 23).

Round three is at Brands Hatch Indy (June 27) and then a return to Silverstone to race the International circuit on August 8.

The season finale is at Oulton Park on September 19
