The European Championship is giving pubs in Salisbury just the boost they needed after months of lockdown.

With England still fighting for a chance to lift the Henri Delaunay trophy in the air, football fans in the city have been flocking to sport bars and pubs to catch all the action.

Tonight (July 3), the Three Lions will take on Ukraine at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

If they secure a win, England will join Italy and Spain in the semi-finals, playing against either the Czech Republic or Denmark.

The Bridge Tap on Fisherton Street is just one of the venues that have been showing the games throughout.

It was named by Journal readers among the best places to watch the Euros in Salisbury.

A spokesperson for the Bridge Tap said: "We are delighted to welcome customers back into our venue and have received brilliant feedback since reopening.

"After an incredibly challenging year for so many, the Euro’s is giving us a reason to make up for lost time and our venue is the perfect place to watch the matches.

"Our priority remains the safety and wellbeing of our team and customers, whilst ensuring everyone is able to enjoy a summer of sport and make the most out of their long-awaited visit to our venue."

Other venues showing the games include the Cathedral Hotel, the White Hart, Bishops Mill and The Winchester Gate.
