TABLE-TOPPING Bemerton Heath Harlequins fell to just their third Wessex Division One defeat of the season, going down 2-1 to Andover New Street.

Bemerton were reduced to 10 men inside the opening half an hour with Ronan Clancy given a straight red card.

That proved costly as Harry Lawton quickly broke the deadlock at Moon Park, before an own goal from Charlie Rayfield doubled Andover's lead early in the second half.

Substitute George Bishop gave the hosts some hope, but it proved not enough.

Bemerton host Millbrook on Saturday.

Laverstock & Ford won their first of three away games on the spin, overcoming Petersfield Town 2-0 at Love Lane.

Both goals came in the second half, courtesy of a quickfire Russ Jones double.

Up in Wessex Premier, Amesbury Town saw their goals conceded tally move into three figures with a 3-0 loss at United Services Portsmouth.

Simon Woods, Florjet Vucaj and Joe Johnson were all on target for the hosts.

Amesbury, who sit second from bottom, have now shipped 102 goals this campaign, winning just one of their 24 matches.

They head to Bashley on Saturday.
