SALISBURY knew they had to win at Yeovil with try bonus to keep their title-winning hopes alive and completed the task with a very accomplished performance.

The Green and Whites stormed to a 50-7 victory over the somerset outfit in Southern Counties South.

Yeovil are a competitive side who would have scored more themselves save for a lack of accuracy when it mattered.

Will Lewin gathered another hat-trick of tries in a masterful performance for Salisbury and Dan Hammond grabbed a brace showing his pace to good effect.

Will Murley, Ed Crossley and Michael Lawrence also crossed the whitewash while Lewin added five conversions.

Salisbury were deserved winners, their collective will to defend their line, even long after the game was won, was a credit to their team spirit.

Sadly, their efforts were in vain as Devizes, a side they have beaten twice this season, scored the tries required to clinch the title.

Salisbury now have two cup games remaining to put some silverware on the shelf and round off the season.
