WHITEPARISH began their league season with a fine pair of results on Saturday.
The club’s first team were victorious at Woodgreen - Richie Hamblin (82no) and Jim Dover (42) scored the bulk of their 187-7. In reply, Jon Nash top scored with 35.
Ed Baylis picked up five wickets for 27 supported by Kieran Higgins and Glynn Turk with a couple each in Woodgreen’s total of 135 all out.
Whiteparish seconds achieved a remarkable 10-wicket win at the Memorial Ground.
Littleton & West Hill scored 218-7 in their 40 overs, Craig Falkingham top scoring with 85. Darryl Parsons picked up four wickets for the hosts.
Whiteparish chased the score down without loss for a record opening partnership.
Martin Ball scored 76 not out and Chris Bartel, with his first hundred, top scored with 142 not out.
Whiteparish’s firsts are away to Paultons on Saturday while the seconds travel to Michelmarsh.
