A FABULOUS all-round performance from skipper Craig Burrows, including a hat-trick, was the key to a 110-run win for Farley’s second team.

Having won the toss and elected to bat first at home to Godshill, Burrows shared a second wicket stand of 187 with club chairman Ian Swain.

After Burrows was dismissed for 88, Farley’s lower order subsided to 231 all out, Swain ending with 74.

Chris Wyver led the Godshill response with a pugnacious 72, 68 of which came in boundaries. But Burrows, in golden arm form at present, dismissed with his first delivery, before grabbing a hat-trick to leave Godshill in tatters. Gary Seymour finished the job.

It was another disappointing day for Farley’s first team, losing by four wickets at Hambledon seconds. A much improved batting performance saw Farley reach 184-6, but Hambledon reached the target in the penultimate over.
