HENRY Castle extended his impressive winning streak to five after seeing off former British and Commonwealth lightweight champion Graham Earl on Friday evening in London.
The 29-year-old Salisbury boxer wasted no time in defeating the Luton star, the contest being stopped just one minute and nine seconds into the first round.
Castle’s victory effectively halted the career of his opponent – The Duke announced his retirement immediately after the fight at York Hall in Bethnal Green.
Castle, a former English amateur champion, will now have to wait and see if he is to be considered for a crack at one of the titles formerly held by Earl.
The win was the 19th of his 23-fight career since turning pro.
