REFORMED Laverstock and Ford Cricket Club ended their league campaign with a six-wicket win at Broughton, which is set to secure promotion from Regional Division 4 North West.

Laverstock skipper Gary Shears had no hesitation in inviting the hosts to bat on a damp wicket, in windy conditions.

Broughton got off to a good start with a few early chances not being taken.

But, Jon Shears managed to take control with the ball, finishing his spell with 4 for 24, Laverstock going on to dismiss their Hampshire hosts for 130.

In reply, Tim Higman smashed 75 not out to see Laverstock home.

Clubman Paul Hemming said: "It's been a great first season back in the Hampshire league and we also reached the final of the Salisbury T20.

"We're already looking forward to next season."

The club is looking for new members and anyone interested should contact Hemming on 01722 327401.
