RETIRED members of Redlynch and Hale Cricket club took on Cerne Valley CC in memory of Andrew Mercer, who died of bile duct cancer in November 2015.
The team of friends and family on Bank Holiday Monday included Mercer's sons, Pearce and Toby, along with his brother David, who is a retired minor counties player.
David Mercer presented the club with a shirt signed by England captain Alistair Cook, and Monty Panesar donated a shirt signed by the rest of the England team.
Andrew had a long and successful cricketing career for Redlynch and Hale CC until 1996 when he moved to Dorset.
