DINTON second XI finished the season on top of the Hampshire League Regional Division 3 North West to complete the club’s first league win in seven years.

The club won their first seven games on the bounce, but came unstuck against Trojans, losing heavily. This would be their last game for five weeks. But this did not affect them as they beat Shrewton 3rd XI by 8 wickets.

There were great individual performances from Andy Nuttall, with 375 runs at an average of 74.2 with two 50’s. Nick Gale hit the only ton of the season with 111 not out against Laverstock second XI.

Leading wicket takers were Rich Cridge with 13 at an average of 14.92 with a best of 3-3, and 14 year old James Nuttall, also with 13 averaging 14.61, with a best of 4-1. Andy Nuttall had the best bowling figures with 6-28 against Thruxton.

The club hope confidence can be taken forward into the higher league from this successful season and they should do well next year.
