FC SALISBURY United staged a courageous comeback as they clawed back a four-goal deficit to beat Saints Foundation Futsal Club 7-6.

United were unable to convert the main share of possession into goals in the first half and found themselves 2-0 down.

England futsal international Luke Ballinger got the Corinthians on the scoresheet just before half time with a thunderbolt.

Saints started the second half the brighter of the two teams and United found themselves 4-1 down with ten minutes left on the clock.

Luke Ballinger once again converted, this time from a free kick, but Saints responded to put them 6-2 up with four minutes to go.

But, in a remarkable finale, Kieran Stephens struck two quick-fire goals, followed by Seb Dawes' strike and then Phil Berntsen drew his side level with a close-range finish.

And with 40 seconds left, Berntsen grabbed a last-gasp winner.

Head coach Geoff Bonner told the Journal: "To take all three points when we spent the vast majority of the match in a losing position shows the belief that is ingrained in the squad.

"National League Futsal games can turn on their heads in a matter of seconds and, as such, even when it looked like we were out of the game we knew it was possible to turn it around."
