FOR the third year running, Salisbury will entertain Bristol Rovers in a pre-season friendly.

Darrell Clarke, who masterminded double promotions in a three-year spell as Salisbury City manager (2010-2013), is returning to the Ray Mac with his charges on Saturday, July 15 (1pm).

Rovers are currently eighth in League One and four points off the play-offs - a position they are targeting after back-to-back promotions.

Last year's friendly saw the Pirates ease to a 3-0 win thanks to goals from Ellis Harrison, Ollie Clarke and Billy Bodin.

And the year before that, which was one of Whites' first games since re-forming, ended in a 4-1 win for the visitors. George Colson scored a spectacular strike for a late consolation.
