BEMERTON Heath Harlequins have progressed to the third round of the Wiltshire Cup with a comfortable 3-0 win over Calne FC of the Toolstation Division 1.

Bemerton started the game on the front foot and had an instant control over the game.

The first goal arrived on seven minutes when a Calne defender handled in the box, giving Bemerton an early Penalty.

Jake Rawkins stepped up and dispatched it in to the bottom left corner.

Bemerton continued to move the ball well and cause problems for the home defence.

The second goal came on 20 minutes when an inch perfect cross from Rawkins was volleyed home by Seb Dawes. More chances came and went but the half finished 0-2.

The second half was closer in terms of chances created by both teams but Crossley in the Bemerton goal pulled off some good saves to keep the home side at bay.

Dawes scored his second of the game on 60 minutes when he was found by the hard working Lightfoot and he slotted neatly to the keeper’s right.

Manager Rae Hughes spoke after the game and said: “A comfortable, professional performance from the lads tonight.

“Very pleasing on the eye which was nice to see and lots of energy all over the park. The main goal was to move in to the next round. So job done.”
