LAVERSTOCK and Ford were unable to stop Tadley Calleva securing the victory they needed for promotion.

A depleted Lavvy side were in the mood to spoil the part and gave an excellent account of themselves in the first half.

Thwarting the home side who were showing clear signs of nerves, Lavvy looked the more impressive side.

However, on 44 minutes their hard work was undone. A cleared header from Tyler Brockway was not dealt with in time and a through ball saw prolific Brett Denham thump home the opener much to the delight of the home crowd.

The second half was a tight affair just as the first, a mistimed header from Oliver Hoare allowed Denham to bury his side's second.

Laverstock refused to lie down and their young side continued to cause problems. However it was not to be and despite their best efforts Tadley held on to seal the promotion.

Lavvy managers Rob Lakeman and Liam McConnell, praised both their side and their opponents and said: "Credit to to our boys today, even coming to a team who were achieving what we couldn't and give a good account of themselves despite us missing so many was incredibly pleasing.

"We made it awkward for them and they were only two errors better than us today! Credit also, to Tadley, we have a mutual respect for each other and they were able to achieve what we couldn't so whilst it hurts we applaud them for getting over the line."

Lavvy have one game to go, tonight away to Totton and Ealing, which will also be Rob Lakeman's last game in charge at the Dell.
