SALISBURY stingrays swimmer Onioluwa Taiwo (Oni), competed in the British Championships along with Olympians Adam Peaty and Jazz Carlin.
Oni competed in the 50m freestyle event finishing in 27.05 seconds, making her the fourth fastest British swimmer in her age group. Additionally Harry Wellington took part in the British Para-Swimming International competition.
Harry competed in the 100m freestyle, coming 12th finishing in 56.57 seconds; the 50m freestyle with a time of 26.14 seconds, finishing 23rd; and the 100m butterfly finishing 19th with a time of 1.03.97 seconds. Excluding international swimmers Harry was awarded two golds and one silver medal.
Many of the club’s swimmers will be competing in South West Region competitions soon in Plymouth, Bristol and Millfield and will be looking to follow Oni and Harry into the British competitions.
