THINGS are looking increasingly festive in Salisbury as we head into December – and a big part of that is down to Salisbury BID’s Best Dressed Christmas Window competition.

Lots of businesses in the city have embraced the competition which is being run in partnership with The Journal. And there are some spectacular entries.

There is still time for you to nominate your favourite window display.

Business manager at the BID, Dan Collins, said: “The effort that has been put in by our retail, office and hospitality businesses reflects the embracing atmosphere we are all creating in Salisbury. It’s fantastic to see.”

He added: “Partnering with The Journal has given businesses a brilliant opportunity to showcase themselves.”

In the competition, five businesses are in with the chance of winning £1,000 worth of free advertising once members of the public have voted for their favourite displays.

Robert Daley, landlord of The Bell & Crown, said: “We are delighted to be involved in the best dressed Christmas window competition. Appreciating how much time and effort other businesses put into making their windows look festive, we have tried to go the extra mile.

“We are always happy to support Salisbury BID initiatives that help the city thrive.”

Head of News at The Journal, Martina Moscariello, said: “Christmas is all about community and we have had a great response to the competition. There is still time to nominate your favourite so please cast your vote and support the business you think has got the best Christmas window!”

If you come across one, take a selfie with it and post it on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #SalisburyNutcracker and tagging the business where you took the photo.

All selfies across all social media channels will go into one draw.

The three draws will take place on December 3, 17 and 31 with each winner receiving a £50 Salisbury Gift Card.
