THIS year will see some enthusiasm towards property buying and selling during the warmer months but it will not be any kind of boom.
Values may be held roughly at their present level, if priced sensibly in the first place.
However, I think house-builders will make less starts than in recent years because, in June 2007, the costly Home Information Packs become law, and that means no one can place their property on the market without one.
No sale, no fee' will no longer exist.
My advice to owners considering a move is, do so now, in 2006, in the hope you have made your completed purchase before June 2007.
I have been involved in estate agency since 1969 and have experienced boom and bust situations, recessions and so on, but I have never before known so much uncertainty.
