HAVING read your article in the Advertiser regarding litter on the A36, I wanted to say I too am appalled at the amount of litter – at Archers Gate in particular.

Having emailed the council on two occasions regarding the lack of dog waste bins, which I must state have still not appeared a year on, I can state the area is a mess.

I know there are additional properties being built, but why would you want to purchase a new home in this area when it is plagued with bottles and takeaway containers and dog waste?

Even the local school has litter around the exterior site. I appreciate the takeaways have a lot to answer for but why not put bins in the area to try and help?

It’s easy for people to blame each other, but providing the necessary tools to assist would go a long way. I am a dog lover.

I clear up after my dog and then walk for an hour carrying dog waste as there is nowhere to deposit it.

So many are now dropping bags of dog waste out on the fields, which is an eyesore and of course would mean the bag decomposes slower than I guess the dog waste would. Come on Wiltshire council — meet everyone halfway.
